Driven by curiosity and built For Evangelist Jimmy Lee Swaggart, ministry was never simply a career—it was his life’s calling. From humble beginnings preaching throughout rural Louisiana to carrying the Gospel into homes around the world, his heart remained centered on one purpose: reaching souls with the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Baton Rouge became home to his family and the headquarters of the worldwide ministry he built, and it was from here that he preached, taught, wrote and sang for more than seven decades.

Brother Swaggart’s impact extended far beyond the pulpit. A gifted pianist, singer, author and broadcaster, he sold more than 17 million gospel recordings, authored scores of books, commentaries and study materials, and created The Expositor’s Study Bible, which has sold more than 4 million copies. His television ministry grew from a weekly program produced in Baton Rouge into an international broadcast reaching audiences around the world, while his unmistakable voice and anointed music became beloved by generations.

Yet among his greatest legacies was his family. Alongside his wife, Frances, Brother Swaggart built a life and ministry rooted in faith, and today his son, Pastor Donnie Swaggart, grandson Dr. Gabriel Swaggart, and generations of the Swaggart family continue the work to which he devoted his life.

Though Brother Swaggart passed away in 2025, the ministry he began continues forward from the city he called home—Baton Rouge—still preaching the same message, reaching the world and carrying his legacy into a new generation. purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution.

The legacy of Evangelist Jimmy Lee Swaggart is not simply something remembered—it is alive and moving forward through the generations of his family today. From preaching and pastoring to television, education, music, writing and business, the Swaggart family continues to build upon the foundation he established while finding new ways to reach a new generation. The methods may continue to grow and evolve, but the mission remains unchanged: to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified and carry the Gospel from Baton Rouge to the world.
